Ultimate Chewy Oatmeal Cookies Preheat oven to 375 Cream together: 3/4 cup butter or margarine (1.5 sticks) 1 cup brown sugar Add: 1 egg 1/3 cup milk 1.5 tsp. vanilla Add: 3 cups oats (I use quick) Blend and add to above: 1 cup flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp cinnamon Stir in any or all of these (all is the best!): 1 cup raisins 1 cup chopped walnuts 1/2 cup chocolate chips Bake 16-18 minutes, depending on cookie size and how you like your cookies - these taste great anywhere from slightly underdone to well done! (I find that the first batch takes a minute or two longer than subsequent batches.) These cookies do not spread, so you can put them close together. I use a non-stick sheet - if not, you may want to lightly grease the sheet. I use a "cookie scoop" (looks like a small ice cream scoop), which makes semi-spherical cookies.
